The results of the cooperation between Hellenic Naval Academy and NCSR Demokritos in a project funded by the Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation were presented in the dedicated conference organised at the Seminar Room, Congress Center (building 12, see map), NCSR Demokritos, at Agia Paraskevi, on Wednesday 31 January 2024, at 14:30.
Based on materials failure ontology and utilising AI algorithms, NAVMAT service/product aims at the optimization of naval materials failure management and the support of decision making in Maintenance and Repair Operations.

The conference was addressed by the Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation President, Prof. Xenia Chyssochoou, the Hellenic Naval Academy deputy Superintendent Commodore Charalmbos Gavalas GRC N and the President of NCSR Demokritos Dr. George Nounesis.
The event was graced by the Deputy Chief of Defence Vice Admiral Christos Sasiakos, the General Director for Defence Investments and Armaments (GDDIA) Vice Admiral (rtd) Aristeidis Alexopoulos, and the members of the Scientific Board of HFRI professors Costas Charitidis and Costas Galiotis. The attendees included navy officers and members of the academic, research and industrial community.
